How to Get a Prescription Online While Travelling in Turkey
Lost or run out of your regular medicine? Here is how an online consultation can help you get a prescription during your trip.
Losing a bag, forgetting your tablets or running out on a long trip happens more often than you would think. An online consultation lets a doctor review your situation without you having to find a clinic first.
Request an appointment, describe what you need and speak to the doctor by video. If treatment is appropriate, the doctor sends an e-prescription by WhatsApp or email, which you can show on your phone or print and take to a pharmacy. The doctor decides what is safe to prescribe, so have your medicine names, doses and a photo of the packaging ready.
Some medicines cannot be prescribed online, including controlled substances such as strong painkillers, ADHD medication and benzodiazepines. If you take one of these regularly, speak to your own doctor before you travel.
